The students have been so excited to return to the library after two years of being closed. The rise in popularity of graphic novels allows even reluctant readers to be successful, avid readers. The exciting plots accompanied by the visuals keep all readers engaged. The students will have opportunities to actively interact with the text and images while building their fluency, making inferences, and synthesizing the information. These graphic novels will also be differentiated materials for students who may experience learning challenges-ESL and Learning disabilities. We are excited to see how this project can bring back the joy of reading books and continue to enrich their literacy skills! The students will make book choices that are exciting and relevant to them, which support their literacy goals.
