The students are excited to be back in the classroom after a year apart in virtual learning for COVID-19. They want to make sure that future students are never again sideilned by a global health crisis. Their solution? Mask wearing! But...how do we convince people that masks are important? Is this really an engineering problem? The students say YES! For this project the students have worked in teams to design and prototype devices to demonstrate how wearing a mask helps not only protect others around you, but also prevents potentially infectious particles from entering your own body. Students will use the supplies requested to build actual working models of their experiments to showcase at an interactive event at the family night at a local museum. This project will spread awareness (not COVID!) in the community and provides an opportunity for my students to practice research, experimental design, media literacy, and the engineering design process. Thank you for your donation to our efforts.
