In my class, we love being together on the carpet for our morning meeting where we learn about the day and let children express themselves verbally. We play games that increase phonemic awareness, number sense, and offer valuable opportunities to learn how to interact with others. A proper whole group carpet with plenty of space and defined areas is invaluable in a kindergarten classroom. I'm asking for a large carpet with defined squares to allow my students to learn how to monitor themselves and make sure there is a spot for everyone to succeed.
