I work with small groups of students across grade levels. The materials for my project will be used to teach my students to read. The school uniform items will support students whose families are struggling financially. Due to the school closure last school year, my students are working below grade level. Many of my first graders have not mastered letter names and sounds. Others know letters and sounds but have not yet learned to blend sounds into words. The alphabet practice resources will help students master letter names and sounds. The phonics decodable books will provide connected texts as students learn the phonemes of the English language. The dry erase markers will be used for Explicit Phonics (decoding) instruction and encoding practice.
