Our students all will use the materials to practice math skills! I know it is a challenge for our students to work independently at home . The markers are way more fun to use and our desks provide the dry-erase surface! They work in pairs and teams to share solutions and talk through problem solving stratgies. The pencils are important because many of our students do not go back and forth to the same home each day - supplies get lost a bit in the shuffle. My students like to work with their team and show answers to demonstrate success.
