The motion sensors we have require 1-2 extra accessories to work (additional hub + computer or a direct USB connection to a laptop.) Being able to just bring the sensors in and have students grab data on the iPads is a vast improvement in efficiency and it reduces the chance that a teacher cannot use the equipment because of a tangential technology problem. Every additional step will lose some fraction of students, so streamlining the experience is very important. Also, our existing models are quite old and often malfunction, making the entire experience - which is frustrating enough since learning is often HARD - that much worse because of faulty equipment.
