My kids are great! They are typical middle schoolers; curious, smart, and super funny. They also face many challenges. Unlike many other students, most come from low income families. A bit more than 85% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunches, meaning that the home income is very low. Teaching is sometimes very difficult when they are tired from having to babysit while their mom or dad is out at their second job trying to put food on the table and keep the power on. Having creative activities to do in the class really keeps their attention and makes learning more meaningful and fun.
