Students today are experiencing a present and looking to a future that is unlike any we have ever known! They are rising to meet challenges with enthusiasm and focus. Imagine being a 4th/5th-grade student in a world where you aren't sure if your learning will be at home that day or in the classroom! And on top of that imagine you are an English Language Learner! These are the students in my classroom. My students learn best when they can make visual and audio connections to their learning. Being able to access a photo instantly on Google, or finding an unknown word or phrase on Google Translate are learning resources that should always be available to all of our students in an instant- all of the time! The students in my classroom often have a lot of responsibility on their plate and at times can forget things like their Chromebook at home, because they had to get a younger sibling off to school. Having these Chromebooks in our classroom at the ready would ensure their learning is always accessible for my kiddos!
