The materials requested will help students take abstract phonics concepts and turn them into hands-on, concrete learning experiences. In all my years of teaching, i've learned that students are more successful when they learn by doing. They can see how the letters flow to make words. It keeps them engaged and invested in their learning. It is important that students are learning phonics and decoding in the primary grades. I have requested activities that allow them to make words, decode words, and recognize word families. This is the basis for reading! Students need to become familiar with letters and sounds, and the materials requested will help me teach them to do so! My goal is to ensure that every students who walks out of my classroom door at then end of the year is reading on grade level or above. It is critical for them! We have to address the learning loss that is happening nation wide. With the resources provided, I can ensure that students are getting the hands on, fun learning that they deserve in the classroom.
