All of my students love to be able to learn music on instruments. Currently, we only have four xylophones in our school. This makes it difficult to use them effectively with a classroom of 15-20 students. In order for all students to be able to play them, I must switch out groups and play through the parts of the lesson multiple times. This takes quite a bit of time and as our classes are only 45 minutes long, they take up a majority of the class time. I love using xylophones because not only does it help students learn how to play rhythm correctly, but it also helps students learn note names and how to read music. The xylophones will foster growth and learning of musical notation and rhythm. The goal is to be able to give my students a variety of opportunities to gain musical knowledge and skill. The sky is the limit!
