I am creating a space where students can feel like writers. The Oscar Wilde Writing Salon is a space personed by English teachers. The purpose is for students to bring any writing assignment from any discipline to The Oscar Wilde Writing Salon for one-to-one writing support. We are going to school in a retrofitted mall, and we need a space where students can concentrate and not be blinded by the bright lights (we literally have spotlights). A calm, but scholarly salon feel that tips a hat to a gay icon is exactly what we need at BHS.
