My students are in need of help learning how to comprehend language and use it in a functional/academic setting. By using a Literacy Based Therapy model, an Evidence Based Practice, I will be able to equip my students with the necessary language to excel in the classroom. With being able to purchase non-tech Augmentative Accessible Communication boards for my non-verbal students, I will be able to give students a voice that they did not have before. Communication is a powerful tool that with the help of these resources, I can empower and equip my students with a voice. I believe everyone has the right to communicate and it is my mission to enable all students to communicate wants, needs, humor, and stories. I would be so honored if my project was chosen and donors choose to join me in my mission of equipping my students in their communication skills.
