With the world of education constantly changing and with student interests becoming increasingly technology centered, it's very natural for students to enjoy learning in a method that appeals to them most. As educators, we are always hard at work to make our lessons interesting, engaging, and of the highest quality and intention knowing that our students are developing a love for learning in the way they best identify with. During this school year I have learned of my students' love for educational activities on digital platforms through simulations, different math and science programs, as well as digital class activities. Online/digital resources are a great way for teachers to track data and for students to demonstrate their learning goals and knowledge. In order to have a fully functioning classroom that embraces the use of technology and its educational benefits, simple items like computer mice and headphones are crucial to the varying needs of the classroom. My class specifically has a handful of English Language Learners who benefit from being able to listen to clear audio passages in order to better develop their listening and speaking skills. As students become more adapted into different forms of technology, having the knowledge of using computer mice and navigating across different webpages has now become a new observable skill in the classroom and can serve as a great support to students who might need it. My school and classroom currently has a several refugee families with students who are unfamiliar with items like laptops, keyboards, and mice. Being able to support them in learning to utilize these devices can later help them in their learning and into the rest of their educational careers and beyond.
