As a teaching artist at a Title I elementary school, I am looking for ways to assist and enhance the music programs in place. Through this project, students will have access to ukuleles as a classroom activity to practice being beautiful (keeping a steady beat) which will serve as a tool to enhance musical instruction. These musical instruments will also serve as a fun, creative way to engage students through learning songs and creating their own. Additionally, students will use these ukuleles through an after school program I will be launching that provides instruction on the ukulele to grades 3-5 which will serve as a creative/musical outlet for students.
