As a new school counselor at a high need, Title 1 school, I need help providing mental health resources for my students. My students deserve the world, but I cannot give it to them alone. With your support, I will be able to provide therapeutic, evidence-based counseling to my amazing students, read beautiful books that reflect the diversity of my students, and create an office space that feels safe and designed with a trauma-informed lens. The picture books will allow me to create culturally informed guidance lessons in all classrooms. The Anxiety, CBT skills, and DBT skills workbooks will help me provide evidence-based, comprehensive mental health counseling. The fidget toys will help students feel comfortable and regulated when they visit my office. The lights and the play tent will ensure that my office space is seen as safe, warm, and inviting. My hope is that with these resources, my students will view mental health support in a positive light and believe that I will always be a resource for them. So often we see people reject mental health services for a myriad of reasons. I want to change that. Thank you so much for your support, I truly cannot express in words what it means to me!
