The materials selected will assist me, the school counselor in beginning a book series for our 3th and 4th graders. We will utilize the bean bag chairs for reading nooks and we will do a grade level book study of the selected book. Students will benefit from read aloud by the counselor as well as independent reading of the story. The story focuses on racial stereotypes, ethnic identity, and friendships, highlighting some social emotional learning for students. These items will provide a safe, comfortable space for independent reading for all students.
