The school I teach at focuses on STEM education and most of these kids are very interested in science. To bring this into the art classroom, I have decided their first painting project will be to go to NASA's "What did Hubble see on your birthday?" page and use the image they find as inspiration. They can either paint exactly what the Hubble telescope photographed or research the celestial body or phenomena and use it as inspiration for their own personal composition. Maybe someone will paint Jupiter or what they envision the icy landscape of Europa might be like. Maybe the 'sprites' and 'elves' that dance in Juno's atmosphere. I am excited to see!
