Our kids need new, interesting books in their library for all to read. The average book on the shelf is at least 30 to 50 years old and many came from smaller, rural schools that closed down. I weeded at least 1/3 of the collection last year because of misinformation and poor condition. I check out books from the city library to share with our school students because the school library books are so old and sad. We especially need high-interest graphic novels. All children are allowed to check out materials to read with their parents at home, books are meant to be shared.
