These headphones will allow our students with disabilities to feel more successful in the general education classroom. Imagine yourself, as a student with disabilities in general education. The teacher asks you to pull out your Chromebooks and read an article on Google Classroom. You are good at comprehending information, but reading is sometimes hard. Same student a different day. This time the teacher would like you to write a report on the information you read from the previous day. You know the words you would like to write, but writing is sometimes very difficult for you to do. Many of our students are spending more time in the general classroom learning grade-level material with their peers. We are trying to make them more successful in the classroom by providing them opportunities to use an app on Goggle Classroom to assist in reading and writing that can sometimes be difficult for them to do. What we need help providing them is headphones with a microphone to assist in speech to text. These headphones would allow students to listen to the app read the material without bothering peers seated near them. It would also allow the student to be able to speak the words they would like to write without the interference of classroom noise.
