For a smaller public school, our rural elementary/middle school offers great opportunities to our students in our computer science department. We offer computer science, typing, Virtual courses and STEM classes. I am requesting an iMac so my students can practice and learn the best video editing. But this year we are adding Digital media and video design class. Our eighth graders will be recording and editing video for our video morning announcements. We have most of what we need, except the right editing tool! We originally was going to use an iPad, but we are quickly finding out how limited that is for us. An iMac would give our students the right tools to be able to take the videos to the next level. With the use of the IMac, the students will be able to use some video editing programs to be able to edit and splice their morning announcement video's. They will be able to add backgrounds, music, animation and an intro that they can not do on an ipad.
