The items requested to create a calming corner will help my students work on Social Emotional skills. Having a designated space to manage emotions and complete mindful practices will help our students become better equipped to complete self-care practices. The timer will allow students to self-monitor the time they need to breathe and bring themselves down from big emotions, while the sensory gel bead bags and the tilt and turn liquid windows will provide students with a way to focus on their breathing. The canopy will provide students with a space to regain control of their emotions without being in the center of attention for the remaining students in the classroom.
