Struggling readers need access to books that will help them strengthen vocabulary, build reading comprehension skills and stamina, and see themselves as successful readers. The combination of the pictures and text give struggling readers the extra support that they need. Your donation will make a difference to my students because it will help them become better readers which will help them build vocabulary and writing skills. Students complete projects on the independent books that they choose, including book talks which hopefully will inspire other students to read the books. Having choice in what they read helps to engage readers, and what better way to engage reluctant readers than to give them "picture books"?
