These fraction blocks will be used as manipulatives to help students see and work with fractions to get an idea of comparing and working with fractions in 5th grade. The calculators will be used to accommodate students who may struggle with math facts. They will be used when math facts are involved in our math lesson but are not the main learning objective. I'm hoping to eliminate a challenge to some students and make learning more accessible for all the students in my classroom. I want my students to be able to learn different math strategies without being caught up on the multiplication or division facts. I also ordered enough for all of my students so they all have an option to learn and use items that will make school easier and more beneficial to them.
