I am currently a 1st year teacher that is trying to make an impact on the students I serve. This year is already beginning with my students up against challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. My Vocal Music classes must make many accommodations to meet the needs of my students. In order to listen, learn, and participate in my vocal music class, I must adjust many of my lessons and learning to environments outside of our classroom to stop or prevent the spread of the virus. Since singing produces many opportunities for droplets to be transferred, in class learning is very limited. To be effective in this new way learning and spacing, a wireless Bluetooth is needed when I move my lessons to outdoor spaces. If you choose to fund this project, you will not only help to increase student engagement, but you will also help to give the students more exposure to elements in our music program with the use of technology. The Bluetooth speaker I am requesting would be useful when sending music and voice media over large distances which will assist with social distancing. It can also be used as a device for recording or voice projection, which is also very important in my class. With these resources it will not matter if I am teaching in-person or virtually, all my students will have the best possible chance for success.
