Students have many interests and many learning styles. I was so excited to find that Storyworks magazine contains stories, articles, poetry, and plays that are interesting to third graders and make them want to read. Reading many genres increases students' comprehension and aids in the ability to write in different genres, as well. Many of my students do not have access to printed material at home. I have requested a class subscription to Storyworks magazine because it is a great magazine for my students and also because it has both a print and digital option. After we use the magazines in the classroom, my students will be able to take them home to share with their families. The magazine also gives me the opportunity to download stories at different reading levels to meet the needs of all of my students.
