The use of whiteboards and privacy folders are pivotal to the learning environment in my classroom for math, reading and writing. We use them daily. They help my students stay engaged in their learning and allow me to quickly assess their knowledge. Students use both kinesthetic and visual skills when using their whiteboards thereby enhancing their learning. I have read where fingers movements like used in writing things down, utilizes the working memory of the brain and thinking and language. I also like that the students have the ability to erase quickly if they made a mistake and can readily fix it. I will use the privacy folders to ensure I am getting authentic information from my classroom assessments so I can adjust my instruction to meet their needs. I like these privacy folders as they can be cleaned and will hold up better than the traditional cardboard ones.
