The whiteboards, CD player, math, and reading manipulatives will make a difference because the students love doing hands-on things. From what I have seen, they learn best from the hands-on and engaging activities that I have done with them. It seems that the students have so much more fun learning when they get to be more involved with engaging activities. Being a first-year teacher, I don't have many of these hands-on resources to provide them within the class. These will be materials that are mostly used at school during our Reading and Math block each day.
