I have an amazing group of Alaska native students who need your help to thrive! My students are bilingual Yugtun-English speakers. Their first language is the indigenous language Yugtun and they are learning English at school. Because English is their second language they need more support in reading than most native English speakers. Graphic novels are a great way for students to practice reading because they are interesting to students and at their grade level, but have the added bonus of visual support. Plus, they are fun and engaging! Help inspire a class of future bookworms by funding this project.
