Every child learns differently, but it is critical for children to have the opportunity to be active and hands-on in their learning in order for students to stay engaged and be excited about learning. By having the different STEM manipulatives in my classroom to use during indoor recess and STEM rotation days, my students will foster their hands-on learning skills, and exemplify engineer characteristics that they will take with them in life. Learning is an active process, and if students aren't active in their learning, they will lose the motivation to continue.
