During the early childhood years, young children are developing a sense of initiative and creativity. They are exploring their ability to create and communicate using a variety of different materials (crayons, felt-tip markers, paints and other art materials, blocks, dramatic play materials, different math manipulatives, etc.). Digital technologies provide one more outlet for them to demonstrate their creativity and learning. In a world that is forever evolving, it is important to keep our youngest learners up to speed. These iPads and Apple Pencil will allow us to freely explore touch screens loaded with a wide variety of developmentally appropriate interactive media experiences that are well designed and enhance feelings of success. The iPads have a number of unique features that provide for interesting possibilities in teaching and learning. In addition, the motion sensor of the iPad has a number of intriguing applications to learning. Most students today would be classified as bodily-kinesthetic learners. The motion sensor allows students to use their hands in guiding the iPad to equilibrium, balance skills, or remote control of real or virtual robotics, hovercraft, or other vehicles.
