Students will read the book and examine the time period of the Civil Rights Movements through the perspective of the main character who is their age group. The story tells of a dark time in history that brought on a significant change to this country. This project will give them the opportunity to explore the past and experience the fight that so many people have gone through. It will allow them to reach within themselves and search for the true meaning of equality and what it looks like in today's society.

About my class
