I will use the ukuleles in a whole group setting for all my 2nd-5th grade classes to help teach my students to read chord charts to the songs they love. They are the perfect size instruments for elementary students and will ignite a love for making their own music as they get older. I can just imagine 15 kids sitting in a circle strumming, singing, laughing, and having the time of their lives. As they get older this same love will transfer to other musical instruments. Ukulele strummers for life.
