The books that I have chosen will be used in reading group settings in the classroom. They will help me provide interesting content that students will want to read, but they will also be at appropriate levels that I can use to provide explicit instruction. These books are beneficial to have any school year, but they will be especially important this year. Research shows that teaching reading with a systematic, explicit, phonetic approach is beneficial for all students, but is essential for students with dyslexia. Having books that will help me to teach with this approach will be an asset for years to come!
