On many occasions, my students want to try new things and learn in an environment that is exciting. When dealing with students that have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD), the educator must think outside the box in keeping the students active and engaged in learning. Many times, the students want to sit on the floor to do their assignments, and work in groups. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met...right where they are! This is how our students will be able to achieve their individualized education program (IEP) goals and be successful academic cadet scholars!
