Picture books are always the best. When counseling young students they benefit from seeing their situation from someone else's perspective. I am new to the school and they do not have a counseling library. Julia Cook, the author, was previously a school counselor and her books show her knowledge from working with students. Using bibliotherapy as a school counselor for kindergarten through second graders, students are able to make the connections needed for growth. This library includes books for social growth, emotional growth, and help with skills on how to better learn in their classrooms.
