I love my job. I love teaching visual arts to my special needs students in one of NYC's highly specialized special needs school. My students all have limited social skills as well as significant language deficits in both expressive and receptive language. The majority are non-verbal and communicate by alternate modes. Many have austim and many are medically fragile. But they all respond to visual art; whether it's sensory or visual, it improves socialization and communication skills and helps them bring beauty to their world.

About my class
