This year I have been moved to teach second grade. I am so excited because this will give me an opportunity to teach phonics in the classroom. At our school they use a program called FUNdations to teach phonics. Each student has a magnetic board that they use to say their letters and practice their sounds. As the year progresses we add digraphs, vowel teams to their boards. This big magnetic easel would be the teacher version of their boards. It would give me a great tool to model and present engaging phonics instruction.
