This classroom set of 25 TI-84 calculators will help students learn mathematical concepts through technology as well as prepare them for the ACT and other college entrance exams. Technology increases student engagement in the classroom. I teach students how to use a graphing calculator usually after I have taught a concept algebraically, as the TI-84 is allowed on state and most college entrance exams. However, sometimes it is fun to use the calculator to investigate how and why a math concept works. Students may check calculators to take home. One of my favorite activities is to have students investigate functions transformations. What does adding a number to the end of a function do to the graph? What about subtracting a number? Students get a better understanding when the can see how the graph is moving.
