Many of the at-risk youth that I teach lack confidence and motivation. Clothing can be a powerful tool for changing self-image. Students get excited about doing science. I want to provide them with a more powerful experience, to really help them get in the role and have fun learning. I really believe it can boost their excitement as well as confidence. I believe the simple act of dressing up as a scientist, may represent an inexpensive way to help my at-risk students get interested in science and see themselves as future scientists.
