Thank you so much for considering my project! I am hoping to add two new carpeted areas to my classroom. The new rug areas will serve multiple purposes. As students enter the room they will see the 8' x 10' vibrant triangle rug, which is playful and welcoming. It brings a feeling of happiness and security into the room as soon as they enter the door, which I believe will help students feel at home in our classroom and build a positive learning environment. Adding carpeted areas to my classroom will also help my students feel comfortable when we gather for morning meeting, small group work, and community building activities (rather than freezing their bums and getting sore knees on the cold concrete floor!). The outer space rug in the reading corner will help instill a sense of curiosity and adventure when they sit down to read their favorite book! Students from my team teacher's class will also benefit from the new rugs when they visit my classroom each day for ELA. Thank you again for considering my project!
