Help me to build the chemistry program at a new charter school in eastern New Orleans that focuses on practical learning. Specifically, we will be learning the principles of chemistry via food science. We are in need of basic tools that are essential for lab work, such as beakers, scales and surfaces to heat substances. Ultimately, students will be working on cooking projects that enhance their awareness of what's in their food and how it nourishes their bodies. Given that our students' demographic is on the downside of the oft-discussed health disparities, this course will serve to ignite an awareness of the science behind healthy eating. It will also help students to see chemistry in daily life.
