These materials will add to our resources in the sewing lab and allow me to provide more supplies and opportunities to the students. Some students are not able to get out and acquire supplies for the projects we do in class. This is sometimes due to expense, location, and/or transportation. Regardless, a well-stocked lab allows me to provide students with materials and supplies if they can not obtain them on their own. It also allows me to expands their knowledge by introducing new tools and demonstrating how they are used in the industry, followed by providing them the opportunity to become familiar with these tools and materials. Interior Design is a new course at RHS. The supplies in our lab that relate to this course specifically are limited. I am trying to build a section of the lab up for these courses. While there is a lot of cross-over, there are tools and design equipment that will help engage students in the course content that we do not have in the lab. These donations will help provide supplies that I would normally have to purchase with my classroom budget. The donations will leave more money in the budget to purchase additional material and supplies for the classes I teach.
