S-Cubed is a sight singing program that was made by a middle school choir director for other middle school choir directors. Mr. Duncan not only created a brilliant music literacy program, but also provides instructional videos, insights on his blog, and personal email communication to help teachers. I would be proud to use a colleague's program that works for teaching young singers to read music! The foundations for S-Cubed are built on the Kodaly Method which teaches young singers the solfege scale (do, re, mi, fa, sol...), notation, and musicianship. Young singers become more confident, independent musicians when they learn how to read music. S-Cubed guides singers on their journey through music literacy with video examples, practice exercises, and games to make learning fun! Using S-Cubed in tandem with teaching students to sing, I can work to develop students' voices and minds to the best of my ability. I will be able to obtain the S-Cubed program through Teachers Pay Teachers.
