This project will update my (slightly outdated) classroom with new and relevant equipment that will motivate and excite my students to continue to enhance their learning experience as they work towards being the best version of themselves. Many of my students are considered low income, and the addition of new and fun equipment would not only encourage them to try hard but will show them that they are worth all of the efforts in receiving these items. My students will gain access to equipment that they normally might not have and the hope is that it will lessen any fear of failure! Additionally, It will allow students to work towards individual IEP goal success with equipment that fits their individual needs. The steel bowling ramp will allow students who are in wheelchairs or have limited movement capabilities to bowl right alongside their peers without any limitations, while the fun colored lights will provide my students an opportunity to be exposed to a "cosmic bowling" styled activity that they normally wouldn't have the opportunity to see outside of school. Items like the football toss game, ring toss, corn hole, etc will allow students to work on their locomotor functional movements like the overhand throw and underhand throw through games and activities that most of us enjoy regularly!
