I have moved to a new classroom this year and am starting from scratch in many ways. My classroom is very different from my previous room and I am needing some help making it feel comfortable for my students! I know that my students behave and perform better in an environment that makes them feel comfortable, I created this project with that in mind. I teach science and my theme this year is GROWING. I think it is important for students to know that even in the adverse times we've faced the past two years, we can still grow and improve. In fact, it's in adversity that we grow the most! This is why my classroom theme is centered around plants. It's cute, science-y, and carries lots of meaning. I am wanting to fill my classroom with plants, books, and homey touches to create this classroom theme. These things can assist me in teaching (the plant life cycle is part of our curriculum) and it can assist students in feeling safe and comfortable. The items on my list will allow me to decorate, create a calming corner in my room, and fill my classroom library. Thank you!
