The items in this project will make students' time during band rehearsals much, much easier! For the safety of our students and family members, we are moving our rehearsals outside and need some extra equipment to make these modified rehearsals as efficient and safe as "normal" band rehearsals. Playing in band while wearing a mask and sitting 6 feet away from the rest of their section members is difficult for our students; the sound system that we are looking for will be used every day in rehearsal to make it as easy as we can. With these items, we can communicate with our students from a safe distance while they play, something that is even difficult to do pre-pandemic. Music educators are always straining their voice to talk during rehearsal and this will make it easier for me to focus on what I need to say, and not how loud I'm saying it (and keep my voice healthy so I can teach longer). Included in the package is a clip-on instrument microphone that can be used during regular lessons and rehearsals while outside due to COVID-19, but can also be used in marching and jazz band performances to amplify student soloists.
