I recently had the opportunity to attend a week-long conference on Conscious Discipline. It was phenomenal! I walked away with a growth mindset and challenged myself to implement my key takeaway...a safe place. I am blessed to have such wonderful classroom culture, but even the best of classes have behavioral struggles. Creating a safe place within the classroom provides students with the opportunity to address their behavioral needs and be active participants in the lesson. My goal is to create a colorful, uplifting space for individual students to release stress. I'd like a bright, comfy space that makes you feel safe and supported. I'd like to furnish the space with encouraging words, a journal, a reflection box, and stress relievers to be the decor. I want the space to be euphoric and support emotional self-management.
