Students can take any of my library books home and the book titles I've included will help them learn. Some are about enjoying a great book and using their imagination. Other collections that I included can help them learn about the past and current situations that happen in our small community: divorce, social situations, and emotions. These current situation books have been suggested by my own students in the past. Giving students the freedom to choose their own book and their own space when needed is what I strive for. I also included some wonderful options to update my reading nook in my classroom with spots to sit and flashlights to read in the dark with. I use my reading nook not just for reading but also for independent work time, free time with games, and a calming spot. I am hoping by giving students empowerment and a variety of more books and tools they have requested that they will enjoy reading as much as I do.
