Lessons in Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Math, and Technology are integrated into culminating projects to enable my students to use 21st-century skills (Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Information literacy, Media literacy, Technology literacy, Flexibility, Leadership, Initiative, Productivity, Social skills). In class, concepts are taught, partners can collaborate, plan and work using technology. At home, they will be researching, writing, and refining their project. Having two Chromebooks in the classroom will help to continue developing their technological competencies by increasing hands-on time with technology for researching, creating, then sharing their projects. This will help students utilize the technical skills they developed during distance learning. Our school does not have one-to-one technology so two Chromebooks in addition to the three over 8-year-old computers will allow more of my students to have access to technology daily in the classroom. This will enable them to practice the 21st-Century skills and be prepared for middle school and beyond.
