Our school has just been updated with TILE!!! We had yucky carpet before and now we have been blessed with new beautiful tile! However, tile is not the most comfortable thing to sit on. It is cold and hard. I would love to maximize my students' learning with a warm inviting whole group area for them to comfortably listen to stories and participate in whole group literacy and math activities. I imagine my class all gathered together on this new classroom rug eager to begin their day or listening to a new exciting story! This rug will give the students an area to all sit together. Sitting together as a group on the carpet feels really nice and it gives everyone the feeling of community. It just feels different than sitting in rows or small clusters at their normal tables. I would love to give my students this feeling!
